What a horrible Christmas tree, it looks like someone puked tinsel all over it! This was what our Christmas tree looked like every year as a child and no one ever said anything. As you can tell, we had way too much tinsel and to many small children setting up the tree. It’s hard to imagine my parents let this fly for so many years but they never had a Christmas tree when they were growing up, so they probably thought it looked fantastic too.
We didn’t even know what ornaments where in our house. We had a bunch of different coloured velvet apples that just came into existence the same time the tree did and no one ever questioned it. Apples don’t even grow on evergreen trees! Why do these even exist?
I’m surprised that the Santa is actually in the center of the tree in the picture because normally it was right at the top. Really though that Santa had no place being on that tree in the first place. I never understood what he was doing with his finger…was he trying to say “shhh” or was he telling me “no?”
It’s a little hard to tell but you can see strands of silver tinsel all over the tree. I think we put that on the first year we got the tree and it never came off. It fused with the tree, refusing to come off it ensured we would have a horrible looking Christmas tree for the next fifteen years.
Ahh Christmas, a great time to look back and enjoy a few laughs
