Life has a mysterious way of leaving us messages to help steer us on our journeys and offer us guidance.  Often times these messages can be overlooked or just don’t apply to our current lives so we see through them unaware.

I had been at an art show and someone had created a magnetic scrabble board where people could re-arrange the letters to form words as the pleased. I approached the board and read the message someone had left behind.  It said “Dream Real Love” and I recall thinking that it was a nice message to leave for someone.  I read no further into the message before taking a quick photograph and re-arranging the words to spell something else.

I look at this photograph now a few years in the future and wonder if the message was left specifically for me. Coming out a long term relationship that has just recently ended this message gives me a lot to think about.  It pulls into question the love that was shared in the relationship and whether each of us was being loved as we felt we should have. Although break ups can be difficult this message gives me courage to continue to be honest and truthful to myself so that I do not succumb to my weaknesses as I have in the past. It is a reminder to dream real love, follow your heart and to trust that it will lead you down a path of happiness and fulfillment.

I’ll never know who wrote this message but I can’t thank them enough for their wisdom.
